On October 24, 2023, the European Payments Council (EPC) issued a press release specifying that the adoption of SEPA Payment Schemes to the 2019 version of ISO 20022 has been postponed to March 17, 2024.

Regarding the Interbank Corporate Banking Service, CBI has decided to postpone to March 17, 2024 the effective date of the new "XML Payment Dispositions" and "SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) Collections" tracks, originally scheduled for November 19, 2023, in order to align with the planning defined for SEPA Payment Schemes.

It is recalled that as of the coming weekend of 16-17 March 2024, the new version of the SCT services, SDD compliant with the so-called November Change EPC, will go live on the new CBI Hub Cloud (CHC) infrastructure.

The new CBI releases are compliant with the migration from the 2009 to the 2019 versions of the ISO20022 messages used in the SCT and SDD payment schemes, foreseen in the SEPA Rulebook 2023 and the related Implementation Guidelines. The main changes noted on the XSD paths include the insertion of new fields, the modification of some data structures and the introduction of some rules regarding the use of structured and unstructured fields in the Debtor and Creditor postal addresses.

As a result, the planned date for the entry into force of the new "XML Cross-border Credit Tranfer" standard, as well as the decommissioning of the Porting PE/EF Cross-border Credit Transfer format is also postponed to March 18, 2024.

The updated documentation is published on the "Upcoming Releases page of the CBI website from 18 March 2024, this documentation will be moved to the section “Payments Area” on the “CBI Service – Standard” page. For more information, CBI’s Standards department can be contacted by writing to standard@cbi-org.eu.
