AOS (Additional Optional Services)

Regarding the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area), the CBI Consortium has defined, beyond the AOSs (Additional Optional Services) proceeding from the SCTs Implementation Guidelines v3.2, specific AOS of Channel (CBI):

  • SEPA Compliant Credit Transfer, for the customer-to-bank area: the SEPA Compliant Credit Transfer Service ("XML SEPA Credit Transfer") on the CBI has been issued the last 28th of January, 2008, consistently with the first EPC milestone;

  • Creditor Payment Activation request: the standard of this service, compliant with the Rulebook SEPA Credit Transfer and with the relative Implementation Guidelines, will be released by the CBI during 2010, following the upcoming registration in the ISO20022 directory. Basically, it consists of a request of payment form   pre-filled by the beneficiary, therefore enabling the automatic settlement;

  • Credit transfer confirmation to orderer and beneficiary: the specifications of this service, compliant with the Rulebook SEPA Credit Transfer and with the relative Implementation Guidelines, have already been issued by the CBI, including the communication to the beneficiary of the acceptance date. From the 28th of January, 2008, together with the XML SEPA Credit Transfer Service, the function has been made available by the Consortium members;

  • Extended Remittance Information: this functionality is incorporated in the XML SEPA Credit Transfer Service, ensuring that more information is made available by the CBI channel (cf. Credit Transfer Confirmation to Beneficiary) compared to the tie defined within the SEPA interbank area.

  • The launch of SEPA Direct Debit CBI has been scheduled for November 2009, in line with the EPC basic scheme, subdivided in two different parts: "Core" (B2C) and B2B. The relative specifications are publicly available on the Consortium website.

The enterprises acknowledge the key role of the CBI Service as a channel of access to the banking system, capable to improve the offer of evolved AOS, which are necessary in order to make SEPA truly and utterly useful to enterprises.
